Sony Xperia S demo now available at Sony experience store near you

Sony Xperia S which will be the companies flagship android when fully launched is now available as a demo at Sony Ericsson experience store near you. Sony is planning to launch Xperia S with in the first week of April.

Xperia S is a direct competitor to Galaxy Note from Samsung. It is expected to be priced at Rs. 36,000. From pricing point of view it will be a big flop until a price cut is done to bring it’s price near to Galaxy Note. As far as the specs are concerned than Xperia S definitely packs some real improvements as compared to their old generation of Xperia android phones. But still at that price range one will expect to get a quad core smartphone rather than a dual core. Although it is true that there is no game or application in android market that can take full potential of quad core but again it will make our purchase a future proof as 36,000 in no sense a small amount.

Xperia S specs are listed below:

Sony priced Xperia S at Rs. 36,000 in India

xperia sAs per my latest telephonic conversation with Sony’s local distributor, Sony priced it’s flagship android smartphone Xperia S at massive Rs. 36,000. Previously rumours are floating around the web world that Sony will price this model at around Rs. 32,000 and will feature it as a competitor to mighty Galaxy Note but Sony priced this phone ridiculously there by loosing most of their prospective customers including me.

At such a price one can get yet to be launched HTC One quad core phone which thrashed this model from every angle. Sony is always known for it’s high pricing of it’s mediocre products but after looking at the international prices we definitely get some assurance in India also they will price it at around Rs. 30,000 but Sony again showing that they don’ care about India and priced it at massive price like Apple priced their iPhones here in India.

UPDATE

Initially most of the local retailers are mentioning a price tag of Rs. 36,000 for this phone and it was pretty sure also, as some are insisting me to book the handset. But now the final price for this phone is confirmed and it is Rs. 32,500 and Sony is initially giving accessories worth Rs. 4,000 to prospective buyers. Accessories include a leather case, 2 NFC tags, a car charger and mini HDMI cable. This price cut by Sony may have come after the release of the HTC One X at Rs. 37,899.
