Universal Search Function in latest Android ICS which became one of the main reason behind the ban of the Google’s flagship Nexus smartphone in USA is now removed from the Galaxy S3 also. As you all know that in USA telecom operators over there has a contract based system. This universal search function was removed from Galaxy S3 phones present on Sprint network.

Universal Search Function in Galaxy S3 allows users to search for contacts, apps and web from a single search bar. But Apple later on claims that they own the patent to Universal Search Function and hence succeed in banning Nexus from USA market. This ban was however temporarily overturned. Samsung and Google is yet to release the OTA update for Nexus smartphone which will remove this feature.

Apple is becoming more and more patent troll. There are still many Samsung vs Apple patent based cases pending in USA and foreign countries.
